DAY BY DAY ITINERARY;

DAY 1: NAIROBI

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, after disembarking from the aircraft, you clear customs and immigration formalities. You will be met and assisted by our representative and transferred to your Nairobi Hotel, which is situated within the city Centre. The day is at leisure. DAY 2: TRANSFER TO MAASAI MARA

Traverse the Rift Valley and ascend its western rim into the Masai land. Red-clad, with spear Masai warriors tend their herds of cattle among the wildlife, admirably unmoved by the presence of large predators. DAY 3: FULL DAY EXPLORING MAASAI MARA

Morning and afternoon game drives in this spectacular game reserve, all with superb photographic opportunities. The most spectacular feature is the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from the plains of Serengeti that cross the Tanzanian border and rivers to reach the Mara’s grasslands from late June, tracked by predators: lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and circled by vultures as the journey unfolds. Apart from the seasonal migration, game viewing is excellent year round. DAY 4: MAASAI MARA RESERVE – SERENGETI

After breakfast depart with picnic lunch to Isebania border where you will clear customs and board the Tanzanian Vehicles. Drive to your lodge situated in the Serengeti National Park with a game drive enroute. This enormous park supports every variety of animals imaginable – from large predators such as lion, leopard and cheetah to the smaller herbivores they prey on. DAY 5: FULL DAY IN SERENGETI

A full day of game drives around Serengeti. You can expect to see wildebeest, lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, monkeys, baboons, hippos, rhinos, antelopes and many birds and other species. We are very flexible with choosing our route, it will be on the track with the migration on its way to Masai Mara. DAY 6: SERENGETI – NGORONGORO

After breakfast drive to drive to Olduvai Gorge, site of Louis and Mary Leakey’s renowned archaeological discoveries. Their findings include some of the man’s earliest known ancestral remains. Continue to your lodge situated on the rim of the Ngorongoro crater. The crater covers over 250 square kilometers (over 100 square miles) of land and is the home of the rare black rhino, prides of lion, elephant, cheetah and great herds of buffalo, antelope and wildebeest. DAY 7: NGORONGORO CRATER

Today you will descend 600 m (over 2000 feet) to the floor of the crater for a full day crater tour with picnic lunch. Explore the forest areas that are inhabited by monkey and elephant, the lake area, where you may see the flamingos and the open Savannah where the lions hunt for food. There are various options to spend the reminder of the day (at additional cost):

• Visit of a Masai Village (extra cost of 30 USD per vehicle)

• Ranger guided Nature Walk along the Crater Rim (25 USD per person)

DAY 8: NGORONGORO – ARUSHA – ARRIVAL AT ENTEBBE AND HOTEL TRANSFER.

Time at leisure in the morning until your departure transfer Arusha for your scheduled flight to Entebbe. Arrival at Entebbe international airport, you will be met with our representative who will brief you on your safari and then transfer to your accommodation. Day 9:- Kampala–Bwindi National Park.

You will be picked at your accommodation in Kampala by our driver/ guide and head towards Bwindi national park, en route you will stop at the equator, then continue to Mbarara to have your lunch at Igongo Cultural Lodge. Later you will drive via the escarpment towards the QENP. Arrival and check in to your lodge in the late afternoon, Dinner and overnight at Ruhija Gorilla Lodge, Bwindi (Half Board) http://www.gorillasafari.travel/

DAY 10: -The Gorilla Tracking (Can Take Up To A Full Day!)

Today is your day for tracking the Gorilla’s. After an early but very powerful breakfast your driver/guide will bring you to the starting point of your gorilla track. (Packed lunch will be provided). Before you start the real tracking you will gather at the Uganda Wildlife Authority meeting area. Here you will find other people as well who will track with you in the same group. A clear briefing will be given to you on what you can expect during the day as well as safety rules and behavior when you are meeting the gentle giants. After the introduction it is time for you to start searching for the Gorilla’s. Depending on where the Gorilla’s are located we can never tell you how long it will take for you to see them. But please keep in mind that it can be active, adventurous, sometimes a bit difficult but definitely a worth it experience, that can last a full day. Return to the lodge in the afternoon and if time allows you will transfer for a community walk. Dinner and overnight at Ruhija Gorilla Lodge, Bwindi (HB).

DAY 11: Bwindi – Kampala/ Entebbe.

Today you will have an early breakfast and start your journey back to Kampala. It will be a long journey, however you will have stopover in Mbarara at Igongo Cultural centre to stretch your legs as well as have your lunch. After lunch you will proceed to Kampala with a stopover at the Equator and arriving later in the evening. Day 12: Departure.

Today you will have your breakfast at Leisure as you relax at the hotel by the Swimming pool OR go for golfing or Ngamba chimpanzee sanctuary with an optional Day room booked on request (at an extra cost). Lunch and then transfer to the airport for your flight out.

Ps: Today’s activities will depend on your flight departure.

Reservation details

• All prices will be re-confirmed at the time of booking and you will be advised at that time of any necessary re-routes or changes the initial itinerary or accommodation proposed.
• All prices are quoted and payments made in USD ($).
• The final price given will be honored except in cases of exceptional price increases both unforeseeable and beyond the control of Prosper Safaris, in which case we will advise you as soon as any change is notified to us.

Other Important Notes:

• Passports should be valid at least 6 months beyond the period of stay
• It is the duty of the client to check passport requirements for travel
• Check-in at hotels is 1200 hours and check-out is 1000 hours
• Missed or delayed flights can lead to changes in itinerary and will be at the clients’ expense should the case arise.
• Luggage limit of 1 soft bag per person during travel in Kenya and Tanzania and Uganda. Hard cases should be avoided as they cannot fit in safari vehicles. Soft-sided luggage or duffels are preferable
• Large suitcases of dimensions greater than 24″x 17″x 7″are difficult to store in vehicles and on aircraft and should not be used (Baggage and personal effects are at owner’s risk throughout the tour and baggage insurance for members is strongly advised).

The estimated travelling hours are based on the actual hours of driving, stops for lunch or photos not included. Gorilla Permits are not guaranteed!! The permits can only be purchased once we have received your 100% payment for the Gorilla Permits. We will let you know as soon as you have decided to tour with us, if the permits are available on your day of request.
